Privacy Policy

Effective date: 14 September 2026

In simple terms: JAO Homes respects your privacy. We collect only information reasonably needed to respond to property enquiries, provide our services, communicate with you and operate our website.

1. Who we are

JAO Homes (“JAO Homes”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is a real estate property consultancy serving clients in Abuja, Lagos and other locations in Nigeria. For personal data processed through this website, JAO Homes is responsible for determining the purposes and manner of processing, subject to applicable law.

2. Information we may collect

3. How we use your information

4. WhatsApp and third-party services

Some enquiry buttons and the website assistant are designed to open WhatsApp with a pre-filled message. When you choose to send that message, the information is transmitted through WhatsApp and is subject to WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy practices. JAO Homes does not control WhatsApp’s processing of information after it leaves our website.

Our website is hosted using third-party infrastructure. We may also use third-party services where reasonably necessary to host, secure, maintain or improve the website. Where personal data is processed by a service provider, we expect appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable data-protection requirements.

5. Legal basis

Depending on the circumstances, we may process personal information where it is necessary to respond to your request or perform a service you have asked for, where you have given consent, where processing is necessary for our legitimate business purposes, or where required by law. We will not rely on a legal basis that is inconsistent with applicable Nigerian data-protection law.

6. Marketing communications

We may contact you about property opportunities or services where permitted by law. Where consent is required, we will seek it. You may ask us to stop marketing communications at any time by contacting us or replying to the relevant message.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information where reasonably necessary to provide a service you requested, complete a transaction, use a trusted service provider, comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, or prevent fraud or misuse.

8. Data security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. No internet transmission or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, to maintain appropriate business records, to resolve disputes, or to meet legal and regulatory obligations. Retention periods may therefore vary depending on the type of information and the relationship involved.

10. Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law and lawful limitations, you may have rights including the right to be informed, access your personal data, request correction of inaccurate information, object to certain processing, request restriction or deletion in appropriate circumstances, withdraw consent where consent is the basis of processing, and lodge a complaint with the relevant supervisory authority. The Nigeria Data Protection Commission identifies these rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Act framework.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

This website is not intentionally designed to use advertising cookies. If cookies or similar technologies are introduced in the future for analytics, preferences, security or other purposes, this policy or an appropriate cookie notice will be updated to explain their use and, where required, provide choices.

12. Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to services such as WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram or Facebook. Those services operate under their own privacy policies and terms. We encourage you to review the privacy information of any third-party service you choose to use.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, website features or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
